Marjean enjoys mentoring and is happy to share her knowledge and experience with the eager young students who appreciate her insight and honest answers to their questions and concerns.

Prassas receives award at NAR Conference in New Orleans, Louisana

The National Association of Realtors held their annual conference “Nardi-Gras” in New Orleans, Louisiana November 5-8, 2010. Marjean Pountain of Pountain Partners LLC enjoyed attending the conference and its many educational offerings. The highlight of the conference for Pountain was seeing her colleague and good friend Frederick Prassas, CPM, receive NAR’s Distinguished Service Award for 2010. This recognition is the highest, most prestigious award given by the National Association of Realtors, and Prassas’s tireless years of volunteering his time to advance the goals and achievements of NAR made him most deserving of this award. “Everyone was cheering as loud as they could because Fred so deserved the recognition for his hard work” Pountain said.

At the National Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) fall Leadership Conference in Orlando, Florida, officers and committee chairpersons were announced for the coming year. Marjean Pountain, who has been active in the national Ethics and Discipline Committee for many years and served as Vice-Chair in 2010 has been elected to Chair the committee for 2011. “Ethics is the cornerstone of IREM, one of the core principles upon which the organization was founded in the 1930’s.” Pountain said. “I am looking forward to leading this highly-motivated committee of active volunteers to achieve higher levels of service and leadership to our members”. Committees meet regularly by conference calls and webinars, and look forward to their next opportunity to meet as a group at IREM’s Leadership and Legislative Summit in April of 2011.
Rent Manager Conference held in Clearwater Beach, Florida

Dwyer of Dwyer Property Management LLC recently attended the Rent Manager User’s Conference at the Sandpearl Resort in Clearwater Beach, Florida. Rent Manager is one of the most popular property management software used in the business of property management, and Dwyer and Pountain enjoy its user friendly capabilities in their business practices. This training conference gave attendees the opportunity to interact with the technical support experts from Rent Manager and gain additional hands on experience learning additional ways to enhance its use in their property management business.
SEAK, Inc. is one of the primary providers of educational resources for experts from all disciplines who wish to hone their skills in the field of expert witness work. Seak held their National Expert WItness Conference June 22-25, 2010 in Rosemont, Illinois. Marjean Pountain was one of the attendees who benefited from the networking and discussions with nationally recognized attorneys, experts, judges and educators who discussed all aspects of expert witness testimony, ethics, and trial techniques.

Pountain elected to “Friends of the Marsh” Board of Directors

At the annual meeting of The Friends of the Broughton Sheboygan Marsh, Inc.” held January 14, 2010, Marjean Pountain was elected to the Board of Directors for the coming year. the “Friends” group is a non-profit organization established to promote the increased use and appreciation of the unique beauty of the Broughton Sheboygan Marsh through education and recreation. This group has worked to see construction of the tallest wooden observation in the state of Wisconsin from which one can view the 30,000 acre marsh. Pountain volunteers her time to work with the Friends group because she shares their passion for the preservation of nature as well as to share and educate residents about the ecological wonders of the marsh.
